Francois Montand Blanc de Blanc Brut

Jul 12, 2010

Chardonnay

It seems only appropriate that we start this week off with a bit of bubbly. After all, if you are a Spain (football) fan, you probably did some celebrating yesterday (and you might even still be doing some celebrating) and if you are a Francophile, you will most likely be looking for something to celebrate with on Bastille Day, which is this Wednesday, July 14th. So, have no fear – to the rescue this week comes the Francois Montand Blanc de Blanc Brut. A delicious and affordable sparkler, this wine is made by the traditional method, which means that the secondary fermentation (the one that adds the sparkle to the wine) takes place in the bottle. This is a versatile wine – ideal for pairing with dinner or serving with brunch (I use it in my Sunday brunch mimosas, too) and it is a terrific choice for parties. Whatever your occasion, this is a wine that makes celebrating easy!

For more information on this wine, please check out its page in our Buying Guide.

Pale straw with a clear watery rim and moderately small persistent bubbles
Light and delicate with notes of white flowers, apples and a hint of baked bread
Dry with a light body and balanced acidity and alcohol. Flavors of white fruits, apples and a hint of toast on the finish

Sept.29th Just tasted this fine wine last night at a friends house and it was wonderful. But he said he could not find anyone in the New York area that has it. I am from Brooklyn New York but would very much like to know if this wine can be bought anywhere in our area. When I say he lives in NY I mean Manhattan. Thanks for your time and effort.
